Troubleshooting Kernel32.dll errors in Microsoft Outlook Express:

1. When you start Outlook Express or are receiving e-mail, you may receive one of the following error messages: MSIMN caused an Invalid Page Fault in module unknown. MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module MSOE.DLL at memory address. MSIMN caused an Invalid Page Fault in module kernel32.dll

This issue can occur if you are using one of the following rules that are applied before the message is downloaded from the server: Where Action is: Do not download it from the Server -or - Delete it from Server. Solution: in the Tools menu, click Message Rules, and then click Mail. Find the rule that is configured with either or both of the following actions, and then click to clear the check box next to it.

2. When you attempt to start Internet Explorer or Outlook Express on a Windows 95 or Windows 98-based computer, your computer may stop responding (hang), and you may receive one of the following error messages: Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll. Commgr32 caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll. Mprexe caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll. Msgsrv32 caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll. Iexplore caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll.

This behavior can occur if your password list (PWL) file is damaged.

3.  When you send e-mail with Outlook Express, you may receive the following error message: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If you click Details, you may receive the following error message: Wnmsgupdt caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll.

This behavior can occur if you configure Outlook Express to use the ATT WorldNet Software Dial-Up Networking connector to connect to the ATT Internet service provider (ISP) service.

4.  When you click Outlook Express in the Outlook Express Folder List, you may receive the following error message: MSIMN caused an Invalid Page Fault in module KERNEL32.DLL.

This behavior can occur because of outdated or incompatible display adapter drivers.

5. When you try to quit Outlook Express 5, you may receive one of the following error messages: MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module WSOCK32.DLL -or- MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL  

This behavior can occur if you are running Intercan Tech AdsOff! or PopOff! . These programs may replace the Wsock32.dll with an earlier version of the file.
